a/k/a Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Eris.
How cool is that?
A new mnemonic by one 10 year old Maryn Smith who happens to be in the fourth grade. (Fourth grade was my very favoritest memory from my school years.) I’ve never been much for mnemonics though…I do better with visual references.
Oh, I hadn’t heard about Ceres or Eris…
(Have I been in a closet all these years or is this new?)
And on an completely non-related topic, it is entirely too easy to eat too many licorice-flavored jelly beans. (But with Easter comes Spring!)

I fully associate the countdown to spring with jellybeans. I get ridiculously excited over the first bag (and eat it far too quickly).
Pretty cool mnemonic. I thought Ceres and Eris were dwarf planets like Pluto now and weren’t counted at all in the planet order. But astronomy has always bored me so I’m not the one to ask.
I saw a girl today wearing a green and orange polka dot scarf and thought of you.

This made me smile SO big. :D
So, it’s not just me with the jellybean thing? Hahaha…
(Do you think we were separated at birth or something?)
I used to really be interested in astronomy when I was young, not so much since. There’s just too much here on this one little planet to deal with.
Green and orange….I like those colors almost as much as green and pink. :)
