I know it’s silly, but I feel a bit mournful. I love watching “House” and “Top Design” and well…that’s about it but still! And my little one is going to miss her “Sponge Bob” and “iCarly” but we’ll make do. I’m pretty sure I have some Disney videos around here somewhere…you know, stuff about how ’someday your prince will come and rescue you’….(haha). Okay, so maybe we’ll need to slowly update our dvd collection but until then Netflix will suffice. It’s amazing how much cheaper it is than basic cable even. And then, I’m not sure just what my husband is going to do. I hope he doesn’t start staring me. I get unnerved when I’m stared at. *sighs and rolls eyes at herself* Well, we’re all making some sacrifices around here but some part of me thinks that losing the cable tv might be better for us than we can imagine. Who knows, maybe we’ll even pick up a book or something.
And besides, it’s not like we turned off the internet…
I mean, really…can you imagine?
:P

WE did the same thing at our house about 6 years ago. I don’t miss it much now. I watch tv different. Did you know that you can watch lots of shows online? *smiles* You just have to wait until they publish the reruns about a week or two later.
And the library is often a good resource of videos depending on the personality of your town. We get all sorts of free vids from the library. Good stuff too, that was just released on DVD.
It forced us to think about leisure time differently. I hope that there’s more painting in your future…*smiles*
More painting most definitely…but I won’t be the only one without tv looking for something to do. ;)

What fills the space might amaze you!
Some of my best memories, and most valuable life lessons happened during times of “downsizing the budget”…especially when my children were little. :)
Well, they finally got around here to turn it off and tonight is our first night without it. Hubby is working late but I did two loads of laundry, cooked dinner, swept and mopped the floors, downloaded the camera, played games with my girl, baked cookies with my girl and it’s only 8:30! I’ll probably go to bed early tonight but I can see more time to paint in my future….
